Offering superlative performance in a 1U chassis, the HPE ProLiant DL325 Gen10 Plus V2 server supports a single AMD EPYC 7003 series processor, while delivering the performance of a dual-socket system. With just the single CPU it can support 24 or 64 cores depending on your choice of CPU. It also supports up to 4TB of memory along with flexible hybrid storage options.
There are three basic versions of the HPE ProLiant DL325 Gen10 server, all of which are 1U. The base version, HPE ProLiant DL325 Gen10 server, supports the AMD EPYC 7001/7002 series CPUs with up to 64 cores and up to 2TB of memory. The HPE ProLiant DL325 Gen10 Plus server version supports AMDs 2nd generation EPYC 7001/7002 series processors with up to 64 cores and up to 2TB of memory just like the non-Plus version, but with a longer chassis depth and support for more storage. This system, the HPE ProLiant DL325 Gen10 Plus V2 Server, supports AMDs 3rd generation EPYC 7003 series processors with up to 64 cores and up to 4TB of memory. All of them support a multitude of storage conditions and each offer stellar performance with just a single socket.
The HPE ProLiant DL325 Gen10 Plus V2 Server offers greater performance with support for more memory than any of the other two platforms at up to 4TB at capacity thanks to the 3rd generation AMD EPYC processors. It also has the advantage of supporting HPE’s Tri-mode storage controllers that support not only SATA and SAS, but also NVMe storage drives. Without the same storage capacity as the Plus version, this one also has a shorter chassis length of 25.37-inches, which is more in line with the base version of 24.21” when compared to 32.52-inches for the PLUS chassis with 2x stacked 2.5-inch drive cages in front.

Compatible with AMD EPYC 7003 series processors with up to 280W, the DL325 Plus V2 will support CPUs with either 64 or 24 processing cores and a massive 3.7GHz clock speeds. The processor supports PCIe 4.0 for increased throughput for storage and high-performance I/O. 8x memory channels also provide for higher density on the 3rd generation EPYC processors enabling up to 4TB of memory compared to only 2TB on the other DL325 Gen10 options with 1st and 2nd generation CPU support.
With 16x memory module slots on the system board and its single processor, the HPE DL325 Gen10 Plus V2 server can field up to 4TB of memory using Load-Reduced (LRDIMM) memory modules at maximum capacity. With all memory channels filled using LRDIMMs, it supports memory speeds of up to 2933MT/s but using 1x DIMM per channel it can support memory speeds of up to 3200MT/s. DDR4 Registered (RDIMM) memory modules will support only 1TB at capacity with memory speeds of up to 3200MT/s using either one or two DIMMs per channel.
The front of the chassis will support 8x 2.5-inch SFF SAS, SATA and NVMe drive types with an option to install two more in the media bay, depending on which drive cage is chosen. The media bay can also be outfitted with either 2x SFF SAS, SATA, NVMe U.3 drives or 2x SFF NVMe U.2 drives to bump the total number of drive bays in front up to 10x. Another option supports a SATA DVD-ROM/RX optical drive in the media bay. In addition, 1x HPE Universal SATA 6G half-height, half-length M.2 enablement kit can be installed in the onboard PCIe slots, and may require additional hardware depending on the chassis storage configuration. Note that VMware ESXi 7.X, VMware will require M.2 or another local persistent device as the standalone boot option. HPE’s Tri-Mode storage controllers provide support for SAS, SATA and NVMe U.2 and U.3 storage options. All models also have a built-in HPE SR100i Gen10 Plus software-based storage/RAID controller.
This chassis supports up to 3x PCIe 4.0 expansion slots with the actual sots located in the primary and secondary risers. All slots are x16 in length with a x16 link to the PCIe bus. A dual M.2 drive boot device (HPE NS204i-p) can be installed in one of the riser slots and can be used to boot the system in mirror mode for redundancy. HPE Smart Array Gen10 Controllers are also supported plus HPEs latest addition, the HPE Gen10 Plus Tri-Mode controllers, which support SAS, SATA, and NVMe drive types in HBA/RAID mode.
HPE’s proprietary integrated Lights Out (iLO) helps administrators monitor server status, and control inventory. It can also be configured to provide alerts and offers remote management to quickly identify and address issues. Tri-mode storage controllers provide another level of storage management. iLO comes in several different licensing options depending on your business needs. HPE OneView can also be used to manage many servers integrating with other third-party management services and tools. It offers an easy-to-use user interface to help securely manage a hybrid infrastructure and provides automated services reducing administrative downtime.
